About Us

Welcome to our family run business which was established in 1983 by the Tinmouth family and was taken over by my family the Scott family in 2017,

I (Marie) have been with HCS since 1998.

 

As well as sharpening blades and scissors, repairing clippers, trimmers and shearers, we also stock a wide variety of blades, dog grooming products, oils and shampoos.

 

Our highly experienced engineers have 65 years between them and are only a telephone call away if customers need help or advice.  

 

We stock Lister, Heiniger, Liveryman, Liscop, Wolseley, Hauptner, Aesculap and Wahl blades.

We also stock most clipper parts ie. Tension Sets, Condensers, Motors, PCB's etc. for Lister, Liveryman, Liscop, Wolseley, Hauptner, Aesculap, Masterclip, Wahl and Kerbl. 

 

We now offer a new service sharpening knives, chisels, axes, garden equipment ie lawn mower blades, secateurs and garden shears.

(Drop off and collect only for the knives and garden equipment, please telephone to check prior to bring them in).

Additional Information

Due to Stockshop (Wolseley) no longer repairing clippers or sharpening blades we are experiencing higher volumes of work  and can no longer give a turnaround time, one of our engineers is absent on sick leave, we are currently approximately Two weeks behind on mains clippers and we cannot give a time on rechargeable machines, we suggest if your machine only requires a service to keep using it until we return in the new year please, your patience and understanding is much appreciated.

Delivery information

 

Don't believe fake "lost package" SMS that requires payment.

We only use Royal Mail and Parcelforce and they will never contact you for payment for additional charges for postage, if anyone contacts you in this way please report this to either ourselves or GOV.UK as it is a scam.

 

Rechargeable machines can take up to Three weeks, this depends on the make of clipper/trimmer and if we have a high volume.

  Please save time by enclosing your charger with the clipper.   

Please check your order against the delivery note or invoice within Seven days of receipt, we must be notified of any discrepancies within this time,  Thank you.

We do not deliver to the EU  

 

 

Rechargeable clippers  (Please enclose your battery and charger with rechargeable clippers or trimmers to avoid delays).

All new products (ie. clippers) are shipped on a 24 hour service via Parcelforce (Highlands, Jersey etc. 48 hrs.) small packages are sent via Royal Mail uninsured and are not guaranteed next day.  Recorded or Special delivery can be requested at an extra cost.  Please enquire regarding postage charges which are to be calculated at the time of ordering.  

 

New products ie. Replacement blades, new trimmers, shampoos etc. may incur a delivery charge depending on where they are to be delivered to and the quantity/cost of goods. 

For next day delivery on new products please place your order before 1.00 pm.

 

Local customers can drop off and pick up their goods at our premises which is located outside of North Shields, we have a queuing system in place for repairs and sharpening.

Returns/Warranties

If you believe your clipper purchased from HCS Services Ltd is under warranty please contact us first, we may be able to help with the problem you are having over the telephone by answering a few troubleshooting questions, it could be that the overload is out and needs to be discussed as to why this has happened, it may be lack of oil, or incorrect oil, over tensioning, blocked filters or hair under the tension device stopping the tension working correctly.   

Most of our suppliers request that if the troubleshooting information given does not appear to be the problem then you are to contact them for more information on how to return the clipper to them direct (not to HCS Services).    Lister warranty clippers are to be returned to Lister Shearing once a returns number has been requested, you will also be asked to explain what the problem is or seems to be.

Any product returned for warranty consideration must be returned complete with all accessories it was sold with, including blades, charger, power packs etc. 

Any cleaning required may incur a charge by the clipper manufacturer/supplier  ie. Lister, Heiniger etc.    

Returning unrepaired equipment

A charge of £7.95 + vat plus delivery of £12.00 + vat is charged if the item is reassembled.

If the item is returned in a dismantled state there is a small administration fee of £4.00 + vat plus delivery of £12.00 + vat.

We can also dispose of the item FOC

Policies

 

We comply with the data protection act and the modern slavery act.  We also aim to recycle as much packaging as possible and use sustainable boxes for the return of your blades.

 

Packaging your blades and clippers

 

Please make sure your blades are wrapped securely to avoid damage, please do not use tape or cable ties to wrap them together.

Do not leave blades on the clipper if you are packaging them in a cardboard box, they can poke out of the box and the blades or the head of the clipper can then be damaged.  It is fine if they are in their carry case and then enclosed in a cardboard box. 

Make a note of what you are sending and enclose your return details, ie. Name, address, telephone number and email address. 

A free quotation for repairs can be requested by ticking the box on your paperwork before we go ahead. 

PLEASE! PLEASE! DO NOT USE COOKING OILS INSTEAD OF CLIPPER OIL.
We are receiving a lot of blades and clippers in here which have been damaged by the customer using cooking oil instead of clipper oil, it makes the blades very sticky and they fuse together, the clipper head is hard to clean and may effect the performance of the clipper.

You can use a 3 in 1 oil if you don't have the correct clipper oil.
Do not use WD40, blade wash or the coat shine as an oil please.

IF WE RECEIVE ANY FURTHER EQUIPMENT IN THIS STATE, WE WILL REFUSE TO SHARPEN OR REPAIR AND THEY WILL BE RETURNED TO THE SENDER. THANK YOU

We no longer have a blade/repair form on the website, however you can email us on sales@hcsservices.co.uk or go to contacts and request a form, alternatively you can enclose with your order a note/letter showing your name, address, telephone number and email address.  Please make a brief note stating what is enclosed and if you have any specific requirements please state this, ie. if you would like a quotation or if you would like us to ring for payment details.  Thank you
